Fresh out of college, I was bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to take on the world. But, a few short years of the corporate spin cycle left me defeated at the intersection of Damn, This Sucks and Well, What Do I Do Next? So, I did what any reasonable person would do… quit my job, packed the car, and moved 2,700 miles across the country to sunny San Diego.
Unbeknownst to me at the time, San Diego is the ‘Capital of Craft’ beer, with over 150 breweries in the county. This sparked a passion that still burns bright today. I had little interest in just dipping my toes, I dove in head first and immersed myself in all things beer. I started homebrewing, landed my first job in the industry, earned my Level 2 Certified Cicerone® Certification (yeah, yeah, I’m a nerd), and even pursued a Professional Brewing program at UC San Diego.
Fast forward a few years and I find myself at another crossroads, although the intersection of Man, I Love This Industry and What More Can I Do To Help It? is a lot more fun than the last one. I’ve always had an entrepreneurial spirit, but never knew where to apply it, until now. That said, I’m taking another plunge and starting my own business. Welcome to Otter Craft Consulting… let’s do this.
Cheers!
